At Empower Cultura, we are preparing for a very special event. Next 1st of April, on the occasion of the World Autism Awareness Day, we will meet at the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid together with families, professionals and institutions to continue claiming the right to an accessible and inclusive culture. We know that culture must be a space for all people, without barriers or exclusions. That is why we work every day to create accessible experiences that allow all families to enjoy and participate fully.
A meeting to reaffirm our commitment
During the event, the institutions that are part of our EMPOWER Network will read a collective manifesto in which we reaffirm our commitment to accessibility and diversity in cultural spaces. The inauguration will be attended by María-Paz Martín Esteban, director of the Real Jardín Botánico-CSIC, and our founder and director, Laura Donis. We will also screen testimonials from families, educators and professionals who will share their experience with the Empower Parents programme and the importance of eliminating the barriers that still exist in access to culture.

Discovering nature through the senses
To close the day, we have prepared a sensory tour of the Royal Botanical Garden, designed with accessible materials and dynamics that will allow attendees to explore the natural environment in a different way. We want this experience to help us to continue reflecting on the need to adapt cultural spaces so that they really welcome everyone.
This event is a sample of our constant work and the commitment of all the institutions that are part of the Empower Network to inclusion. It is not just about celebrating a day, but about continuing to transform culture so that it becomes a space where all voices are heard and all people feel welcome.
See you on 1 April at the Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid.
Join our initiative and let's build a more inclusive culture together!
